The Service is operated by Kevin Neamt, a sole proprietor based in Illinois, United States.

1. Who We Are
Essentify is a home and property maintenance tracking service that lets you record, organize, and access the maintenance history of devices and systems in your home or building, including through QR codes.

2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you register or sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and basic profile information from your Google account. If you register with a password, we store it in a securely hashed form; we never store your password in plain text.
Maintenance and device data. We collect the information you choose to add to the Service, such as the devices, appliances, and systems you track, their details, and the maintenance logs, notes, dates, and related information you record.
Payment information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Stripe handles your payment information in accordance with its own privacy policy, and we receive limited information such as your subscription status and billing details necessary to manage your account.
Usage and technical information. We may collect technical information automatically when you use the Service, such as your device type, browser, and general activity within the Service. In the future, we may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used; if we do, those tools may set cookies or collect usage data as described in Section 6.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your access;
- Process your subscription payments and manage billing;
- Store and display the maintenance and device data you record;
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
- Send you service-related communications, such as account notifications, password resets, and important updates;
- Send you marketing or promotional communications, where permitted, which you may opt out of at any time;
- Improve, analyze, and develop the Service;
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse;

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We share information with third-party companies that help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Stripe (payment processing), and Google (sign-in). These providers only access information as needed to perform services for us and are obligated to protect it.
Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
Business transfers. If Essentify is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

The Service uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function, such as keeping you signed in.
